West Wicklow Community Employment work with local employers to provide opportunities for participants to gain work experience with an employer in their chosen career area. Every participant on the scheme will have an up-to-date CV. It is the aim of WWCE to encourage and support participants to regain employment and we would encourage employers to be supportive to participants also.

JobsPlus

 

JobsPlus is an incentive from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection to encourage and reward employers who offer employment opportunities to the long term unemployed. Grants of €7,500 and €10,000 are available.

Kiltegan

Kiltegan is a village in west County Wicklow, Ireland, on the R747 regional road close to the border with County Carlow. The 19th century mansion Humewood House lies just outside the village. It was built in 1870 for William Hume-Dick, father-in-law of Richard Penruddocke Long, by William White.

Rathdangan

Rathdangan is a village in County Wicklow, Ireland. Rathdangan was once the bustling heart of the local community sporting two pubs, two shops and a post office. While still the focal point of the neighbourhood only one pub remains. Known by locals as Junior's the name over the door is Byrne's

BALTINGLASS

Baltinglass, historically known as Baltinglas, is a town in south-west County Wicklow, Ireland. It is located on the River Slaney near the border with County Carlow and County Kildare, on the N81 road. Its Irish name means "the way of Conglas", Conglas being a member of the mythological warrior collective, the Fianna.

KNOCKANANNA

Knockananna (Cnoc an Eanaigh - the Hill of Marsh) nestles on the borders of County Wicklow and Carlow. The village is the centre of a dispersed farming area, 2km to the north-west of Moyne and the Wicklow Way. Although there is a grocery shop and a pub, there is no restaurant in the village. However, there is a local guest house that is highly recommended for evening meals.
